I’m Laura, a 61-year-old communications student who is grateful for the opportunity of beginning again. At 59, I returned to school to study digital communication and media design, following a quiet nudge from within that it was time to grow in ways I had once feared. Higher education has become one of the most important and meaningful chapters of my life.
I live in Central Wisconsin, where the beauty and rhythm of the seasons, and the simple joy of caring for my chickens shape the way I see the world. Out here, I’m reminded that God often speaks in gentle ways, through quiet moments and small routines.
Growing academically has helped me grow spiritually. As I study communication and digital media, I’m learning to listen more closely, express myself with clarity, and approach the world with a more thoughtful, informed perspective. I see education as a way of honoring God, by keeping my mind open, active, and ready for whatever He inspires next.
If my journey encourages you to explore your own path of growth and learning, I’m grateful to share this space with you. May we both continue forward with openness, curiosity, and faith!
